IntelliJ IDEA 8 – They did it again :(
Once more another major IntelliJ IDEA release. Gave a test drive. Uninstalled it today. Horribly slow. Supposedly Ubuntu bugs. Bollox. Code reformatter broken.
I so wish for having back 4.5 with a simple word completion and syntax highlighting feature for Ruby. What more do you need? Sigh. :)

Have you tested RubyMine (http://www.jetbrains.com/ruby/index.html)?
I have. When I first heard about it a few weeks back. Unfortunately it did not start at all. Build 435, tested on Ubuntu 8.04, 64 Bit. Tested build 500 just now. Doh. Had to deactivate the YourKit profiling agent. Not 64 Bit compatible?
Anyway, I do need Java support, too. I would just prefer a fast and responsive editor to an editor that supports flex, sql, xyz, abc, etc.. :)
But RubyMine feels nice compared to IDEA 8 for Ruby editing. Thanks for reminding me to give this another try!
